Abuse is a learned behavior.

A lot of things can be learned from school, in the streets, and even at home. Children quick to pick up things from their friends, teachers, families, and parents. If anything can be learned from anywhere then abuse can also be learned. " Nationally one in three children that come from abusive homes will later abuse a spouse or child in their home as well" (www.childhelp.org). This shows that some children that lives in abusive homes will more likely be able to abuse others, this proves that abuse is something that can be learned.

Children learn from their parent's actions, their behavior are based on what they hear or see from their parents or caregivers. Witnessing violence has an impact on children, it can make them think that violence is a good way to solve problems which is wrong in many ways. children learn to be aggressive and become violent at an early age. " the process by which violence is taught is circular. The teachings begins in the family, expands through the culture of the community and larger society in which the child grows and matures and is then again reinforced or discouraged in the family." (www.unce.unr.edu). This means that violence repeat itself over and over again. Not realizing that families contribute to helping or teaching their kids how to be violent and that it starts at home, kids take what they learn and carried it with them out into the world. This shows that abuse can be learned and that kids might take it in the future with them.

This image of parents fighting infront of their child is how kids learn abuse. What this image is showing is how the parents were probably arguring and it lead to the father hitting on the mom in front of his child. Seeing this will make the child mad and feel powerless to do anything, this madness could stay with the child for a long time and things may get worse. This image is also showing that that child may have a different way of thinking, he may be upset but then again he may think that it is okay to hit on people and may go out in the world thinking that its okay to be violent.
